Senior Vice President for Western Hemisphere Survey Operations

Arinjit Roy is the Senior Vice President for Western Hemisphere Survey Operations at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). In this role he has operational responsibility for North and South America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. With experience in the marine, offshore and power generation industries, Roy is leading change within ABS to gain operational efficiencies and prepare the Survey workforce to expertly navigate the challenges brought on by the digital era, alternative fuels and changing technologies in the industry. 

Previously he served as Vice President of Regional Operations for Europe and Africa at ABS. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Business Development where he led the effort to drive business growth in the marine and offshore industries in North America. Roy operates out of the ABS Headquarters location in Houston, Texas. 

Roy joined ABS in 2006 as a Surveyor in the Morgan City, Louisiana, Port Office. He has served in various roles including Director of the Tanker Market Sector, Operations Manager of the Northern Pacific Region (South Korea and Japan) and Divisional Lead Offshore Surveyor - Pacific, based in Singapore. 

Prior to joining ABS, Roy worked for Tidewater Marine as a Port Engineer and Tampa Bay Shipbuilding as Assistant Drydock Supervisor. He is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering Technology from Maine Maritime Academy and an MBA from Nicholls State University. 

Roy is married and has two children. In his free time, he likes spending time outdoors hiking, camping and fishing.
