Eric Kleess

Senior Vice President, Eastern Hemisphere Survey Operations

Eric Kleess is Senior Vice President, Eastern Hemisphere Survey Operations for ABS. Kleess has operational responsibility for the Pacific and Greater China, which includes survey operations, client service delivery and financial responsibility for China, Korea, Japan, India, The Philippines, Singapore, Guam, and Malaysia.

Kleess has served in several leadership roles for ABS including President of the ABS Greater China Division, President of the ABS Pacific Division, Senior Vice President of Operations for the ABS Americas Division, Senior Vice President of Operations for the ABS Pacific Division, ABS Regional Vice President Northern Pacific, and as ABS Country Manager.

Kleess began his career with ABS as a Surveyor in Maryland, U.S., and then Durban, South Africa. He served as a Senior Surveyor in Singapore and Malaysia before becoming a Principal Surveyor in the Southeastern U.S. and Caribbean. Kleess also served as ABS Country Manager for Malaysia and Brunei.

Kleess graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, New York, with a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering. He completed the Harvard Business School’s General Management Program and holds various licenses and certificates including, qualified weld inspector and non-destructive evaluation certificates, an Assistant Engineer’s License (steam) and a Third Assistant Engineer’s License (steam and diesel).
