Enhanced Program of Inspections During Surveys of Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (2011 ESP Code)

Annex B/Part A and Annex 2: Thickness Measurements at First Renewal Survey

After an industry study of thickness measurements taken at the first renewal survey of double hull oil tankers, amendments to the 2011 ESP Code were adopted, affecting inspections during renewal surveys of double hull oil tankers. The amendments will change the required thickness measurements during renewal survey number 1 by reducing the scope to only suspect areas. The changes will be reflected in Annex 2 of Part A or Annex B of the code, in amendments to the Minimum Requirements for Thickness Measurements at Renewal Surveys of Double Hull Oil Tankers table.
