Notice to Industry - Damage Control Information On Board Vessels Built After 1 January 2009

Recent observations by Port State Control officials have highlighted the importance of making required damage control information readily available to vessel crews. This information provides guidance to the vessel’s master and crew to be used for reference in an emergency. This bulletin provides information addressing:

· the regulations and guidance documents related to Damage Control Information required under the SOLAS Convention

· requirements for onboard confirmation of Damage Control Information made available to crew

· measures taken to remind owners and operators of affected vessels to confirm the availability of this information
