Maritime Safety Committee’s 95th Session 3 to 12 June 2015

This December 2015 Update provides further details of the 95^th session of the Maritime Safety Committee held earlier this year. Amendments to SOLAS include new provisions for cargo tank venting, power ventilation systems and a new Code of Safety for Ships Using Gases or Other Low-Flashpoint Fuels, IGF Code. Subject to adoption at MSC 96 in May 2016, several new SOLAS amendments were approved and will enter into force on 1 January 2020. Finally, numerous performance standards and unified interpretations were approved ad are summarized in this Update.
