ABS Brief PPR 8

The IMO Pollution Prevention and Response (PPR) Sub-Committee held its 8th session remotely from March 22 to 26, 2021. This Brief provides an overview of the more significant issues discussed at this session, which includes matters pertaining to Black Carbon Emissions, Biofouling and Ballast Water Management. While new regulations developed by the PPR Sub-Committee are not finalized until approved by the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), a review of the Sub-Committee’s activity can provide a forecast of future regulatory developments.
