Revised California State Regulations on Ballast Water Management (BWM)

Under recent revisions of the California Code of Regulations, effective as of July 1, 2017, vessels of 300 gt or more and that are carrying or capable of carrying ballast water are required to submit the U.S. Coast Guard BWM Report (http://www.slc.ca.gov/Forms/MISP/BallastWaterForm.pdf):

at least 24 hours before the vessel arrives at a California port;
prior to departing the port of departure if the voyage is less than 24 hours; and
prior to arrival when moving from one California recognized separate port to another.
